Welcome to our 2 day SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager course at our site in Göteborg!

This two-day course provides you with the knowledge you need to contribute and deliver value in an agile organization. You will learn a proven method to perform the activities and manage the tools needed to handle backlogs and drive agile programs. After attending the course, you can take the POPM (6.0) - SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certificate.

What is SAFe®?

Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) will help you and your company with the challenges around developing and releasing products and systems in a bigger scale and with shorter lead time than using the traditional waterfall method.

You will be able to synchronize and adapt the deliverables for several teams at the same time. As SAFe is configurable and scalable you can select the level of implementation based on your business size and needs. SAFe supports everything from a delivery organization with 50-125 users to large scale corporations, handling complex system solutions with thousands of people involved.

In SAFe you will find the roles, responsibilities, artefacts, and events that are necessary to execute an upscaled Lean-Agile product delivery.

You can read more about SAFe here: What is SAFe?

The Big Picture!

SAFe will provide you with an interactive visual overview of the framework that is the main user interface to SAFe's knowledgebase. By clicking on an icon in the picture you will get access to the subject's article as well as links to related information. Download The Big Picture!

Improved result of system development

SAFe way of working is well established and has evolved through practice and refinement to achieve a comprehensive way to develop complex systems and software in a Lean-Agile way. The foundation of the framework has three primary sources of knowledge: Agile development, System thinking and Lean product development.

You will find guidance using SAFe for these kinds of questions:

  • How can we as a company reach our technical and business goals?
  • How can we improve our economical result through better decisions?
  • How can we continuously deliver customer value through our organization by letting them plan and execute?
  • How do we improve our customer’s satisfaction by improving the quality of our solution?
  • How will we implement the Lean-Agile Way-of-Working throughout our whole organization, from business units to the single team, to improve the customer value we deliver?
  • How can Value Streams help us deliver in a structured and efficient way without the delays that normally occurs in organizations burdened by bureaucracy and strict hierarchy?
  • How can we minimize and handle dependencies between teams, programs, and Value Streams?
  • How do we create a culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and relentless improvement?
  • How can we keep people motivated in what they are doing?
  • What changes do we need to do to promote risk taking, tolerate failures, and encourage lessons learned?
  • How can encourage the teams to enforce continuous improvement?
  • How do we know what our agile teams are up to? Can we measure their efficiency?

By implementing SAFe and utilize its set of values, principles and practices, you can handle questions like these above and reach great benefit for the company, the teams and for you as well!

What will I learn?

You will gain deep understanding regarding Agile Release Trains (ART), the value they create, and what you as PO/PM can do to facilitate the work, making it more effective. You will learn how to apply a lean mindset when writing Epics and splitting them into Features and Stories. You will also learn how to plan and execute Iterations and Program Increments. Finally, how to work in continuous integrations / deployments, embracing the DevOps culture.

We will cover the following topics:

  • Applying SAFe in a company working with Lean.

  • Lean Portfolio Management coordination
  • Continuous exploration of customer need before / during the Program Increment (PI) Planning

  • How to put the customer at the center of your design, build, and test process
  • How to prepare for and lead PI Planning
